Condition
Possible Cause
Inspect and Repair
System completes a
POST when energised
but motor function
stops when the lamp is
switched ON.
OR
Searchlight begins
another POST when
the lamp is switched
ON.
System power return
problem.
1. Check all system power returns (negative
supply) are in place and are secure.
2. Check that cable shields are “grounded” the
PCIU MKII and the Searchlight “grounding” is
intact and secure.
3. If all system “power returns” are in place and
secure, and the system exhibits “motor lock-
up”, contact a Trakka Corp Authorised Service
Centre for further assistance.
Searchlight travels into
zones which are
beyond the identified
azimuth and elevation
limits.
Incorrectly set azimuth
and/or elevation hard
stops.
1. Check the hard stop witness marks.
2. Carry out the prescribed azimuth and elevation
hard stop adjustment procedures (refer to
Chapter 4).
3. Check the azimuth and elevation drive shafts
for signs of slippage between the shaft and it’s
mating drive gear.
