G. Trakka Control Panel Operation
(1) The Trakka Control Panel provides an interface (RS-232) to the PCIU MKII or CIU and also
contains discrete inputs to allow remote mounting of switches that provide the same functionality
as the front panel. There are also discrete outputs used to indicate system status and discrete
inputs to control the brightness levels of illuminated components Figure 5 and Figure 7 shows the
TCP integrated into a searchlight system. The TCP also provides an interface to the Grip Hand
Controller.
(2) The panel text of the TCP will use LED backlighting and brightness variation is controlled from the
aircraft dimming signal. Panel text backlighting, annunciators and display will be Night Vision
Goggle (NVG) compatible.
(3) The following switch functions are available for each collective.
(a) Joystick movement (up, down, left and right).
(b) Filter select switch (momentary).
(c) Filter engage/enter switch (momentary).
(d) Zoom wide (momentary).
(e) Zoom narrow (momentary).
(f) Lamp ON/OFF (momentary).
(g) Deploy (momentary).
(h) Stow (momentary).
(i) Camera slave ON/OFF (momentary).
(j) Switch ground (0 V).
(4) The collective switch inputs will be replicated on the control panel (or facia) with additional
switches (refer to Table 8).
