Figure 39 - Elevation DOWN Hard Stop Adjustment
CAUTION:
DURING REMOVAL OF THE ELEVATION MOTOR ASSEMBLY ENSURE THE
MOTOR DRIVE GEARS DO NOT TURN. ANY ROTATION OF THE MOTOR
WILL CHANGE THE POSITION OF THE TRAVEL NUT IN RELATION TO THE
DOWN LIMIT SWITCH (FACTORY PRE-SETS).
NOTE: The electrical connectors and bonding lead do not need to be disconnected for
the next step.
(8) Remove the elevation motor planet assembly (Figure 39, item 2) (034034) to expose the bottom
section of the drive coupling (Figure 39, item 5).
NOTE: The motor assembly must be removed so that the two rear cap screws (Figure 39,
item 3) can be removed for cleaning and re-application of Loctite.
(9) Turn the bottom section of the coupling (Figure 39, item 5) by hand or with the assistance of a
suitable small lever to raise the lamp assembly position to the new required position (Figure 39).
(10) Rotate the hard stop driven gear (Figure 40, item 3) so that the travel nut (Figure 40, item 4) is in
full contact with the bottom of the drive shaft (Figure 40, item 5).
(11) Clean any Loctite residue from the four cap screws (Figure 40, item 3 and item 4) and apply
Loctite 243 to the threads.
(12) Place two cap screws (Figure 40, item 3) in the two rear holes of the motor assembly.
(13) Install the motor assembly to its original position.
NOTE: The lower section of the coupling may have to be rotated slightly to align with the
upper section.
(14) Refit the two front cap screws (Figure 40, item 4) and tighten all four screws to a torque setting
of 3.0 ± 0.2 Nm.
(15) Do not change the position of the adjustable C-clamp at this time.
(16) Turn the system power ON.
(17) Allow the system to complete an initialisation check.
NOTE: Once the hard stop position has been set, the lamp assembly movement will stop
approximately 9° before the hard stop position. Refer to Chapter 4, K Table 19.
NOTE: Microswitch activating arm distance from the travel nut will be the same as those
shown in Figure 36.
(18) Drive the lamp to its maximum UP position.
NOTE: This will be lower than the original full UP position.
