Harmony Lift – Master Definitions of Basic Safety Items
A. Check door lock operation
:
-Manually check door cannot be opened (by reasonable force) over full length of travel.
B. Check Emergency door release
-Stop car mid travel use emergency release key to release latch
-Ensure door can be fully opened
-Ensure lift cannot be operated
-Ensure it is not possible to jam latch emergency release
C. Ensure door beak is secure
D. Check call station operation
-Up/down/door buttons function
-Stop button
-Remote On/Off fob operation
E. Check safe edges
, at least three points.(both ends and centre)
F.1 LH car top s/e
F.2 RH car top s/e
F.3 Door top s/e
F.4 Sling top s/e
F.5 Check door bottom safe edge
- use ramp to lift.
F.6 Check u/pan safe edges
(4 corners and centre)
F.7 Check trapdoor s/edges
up and down (4 corners and centre)
F.8 Underpan up safe edge
(2 sides)
These checks should incorporate the following:
- Lift actually operating and lift can drive away
- Check there is 20mm follow through after lift stops
- Check LED Indications functioning correctly
- Check no s/edges are sticking
G. Check the Underpan o/ride
operates at a maximum of 9mm of the u/pan from the
ground floor. Test by placing a 9mm pad on the floor under the lift and bringing the lift
down when the lift stops it should be possible to raise the u/pan a further 20mm.
H. Check trapdoor down s/e override
operates such that trapdoor is no greater than
20mm from the upper floor
I. Check condition of door cables
– With the door actuator side panel removed,
disconnect the door connecting rod from the detent cassette and power the actuator motor
to the closed position. Close the door latch and send the lift up approximately 150mm and
stop. Open and close the door manually ensuring that no LED’s flicker, at the same time
checking that there is no damage to the two multi-core door cables.
J. Check wall anchorage points are secure
K.
Turn mains power off -
check lift lowers on battery backup.
