Bleeding the Hydraulic System & Fitting Protective Covers
IMPORTANT! – Keep fingers clear of the bleed tappings during this process, to
eliminate the possibility of trapping.
1. Connect hydraulic hose to fittings at base of ram.
2. Insert a Ø3/8” bar (ram locking bar) through the hole in the LH lower guide, above
the car sling and ensure the bleed spacer is fitted between the guides.
3. Ensure that the hydraulic tank in the powerpack, is full of oil and then attach the
bleed pipe to the lower bleed port on the side of the ram. The end of the bleed pipe
should be held over a can to catch any fluid bleeding from the cylinder.
4. Run the powerpack using the special control hand set supplied by Terry Group Ltd
for a few seconds until all air is cleared from the cylinder.
5. Unscrew the bleed pipe and attach to the upper bleed port. Repeat the procedure
on the upper bleed port and then secure both bleed caps.
7. For safety reasons, fit
white dome caps into guide
holes as soon as sling and
ram are installed.
Use fasteners supplied
to fix bleed valve cover
to side of guide.

Cover.
Connect hose here.
Velcro is used
to fix cover to
side of guide.
6. Fit the ram catch tank cover and
bleed valve cover as illustrated.
