Bottom Stop Height Adjustment
It is important that correct ram fixing plate adjustment is made on site, to ensure that
consistent door beak alignment is maintained whilst the lift is in its lowest position and to
ensure correct re-synchronisation of the hydraulic ram. When adjustment is correct the lift
carriage will stop on the ram, which will be in its fully closed position. Adjustment should be
made on the attachment plate such that there is a maximum of 5mm free movement in the
Underpan. Because the lift is stopping mechanically and not electrically the controller must
see a break in the down safe edge circuit in order to switch off the solenoid valve, and allow
the lift to accept an
UP
signal. To do this, the safe edge override switch operates a timer
which overrides the safe edge for approximately 3 sec’s (to allow the lift to travel down past
the Underpan). After this time the safe edge is brought back into the circuit, thus breaking
the
DOWN
signal.
TO ADJUST THE CARRIAGE
UPWARDS
For adjusting the carriage upward,
it is the left hand adjuster bolt that
applies the lifting action.
Each time a clockwise turn is
applied to the left hand bolt, there
should be the same amount of
adjustment anti-clockwise
released off the right hand bolt.
Adjusting the plates in this way
will keep the upper edge of the
plates parallel with the top of the
sling which is important.
TO ADJUST THE CARRIAGE
DOWNWARDS
For adjusting the carriage down, the
left adjuster bolt must be released
turning anti-clockwise. Again, for
each turn of the bolt on the left hand
side, the same amount must be
applied to the right hand side bolt
clockwise.
IMPORTANT: After any adjustments, the M8 main fixing bolts MUST be tightened
.
ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the plates, the two M8 main
attachment bolts must be loose.
Once the adjustment is complete,
these bolts must then be tightened.
