7D-4 TRANSFER
DISMOUNTING
1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Hoist vehicle and remove wheels.
3) Drain transaxle oil referring to “Manual Transaxle Oil
Change” in Section 7A2.
4) Drain transfer oil referring to “Oil Change” in Section 7D of
the Service Manual mentioned in the “FOREWORD” of this
manual.
5) Remove exhaust No.1 pipe (1).
6) Remove propeller shaft referring to “Propeller Shaft Removal
and Installation” in Section 4B.
7) Remove right side drive shaft referring to “Front Drive Shaft
Assembly Removal and Installation” in Section 4A.
8) Remove transfer to transaxle stiffener (3).
9) Remove transfer to engine stiffener (1).
10) With transaxle assembly held on jack, remove rear mounting
bracket bolts (1).
11) Remove transfer to transaxle bolts and draw out transfer
assembly from transaxle assembly.
