Dangers to persons
DANGER!
Danger to life due to electric current!
Contact with live parts causes immediate danger to life by electric shock. A damage to the insulation or of individual
components can be life-threatening.
- In case of damage to the isolation, turn off the power supply immediately and arrange a repair.
- Before performing any cleaning work, switch the main power to OFF.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to high-power UV irradiation!
The UV lamp emits high-power UV irradiation. A long-term exposure to UV light results in damage to health.
- Avoid eye and skin exposure to unshielded radiation.
- Only use in an enclosed environment which shields users from the irradiation like the GuardOne® Workstation interior.
- Turn off the UV irradiation when you finish the decontamination of the GuardOne® Workstation.
- In case of a malfunction of the UV lamp, contact the Starlab service technician immediately.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to rubbing alcohol (ethanol)!
Ethanol is an eye irritant. The alcohol vapor can cause light-headedness and drowsiness.
- Before working with ethanol, switch the main power to OFF.
- Ensure proper ventilation when working with ethanol. If you feel tired or light-headed, immediately breathe fresh air.
- Before a longer stay, ventilate the work area.
- In case of persistent drowsiness, seek medical assistence.
- Always keep ethanol storage containers tightly closed.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke in the working area.
- In case of accidental contact with ethanol, immediately initiate first aid measures:
- Take off contaminated clothing immediately.

Inhalation:
Provide for fresh air. In case of complaints, consult a doctor.

Skin contact:
Wash off the ethanol with soap and plenty of water. In case of complaints, consult a doctor.

Eye contact:
Rinse the eyes immediately with water. If possible, remove inserted contact lenses and continue to rinse
with water. Consult a doctor.

Ingestion:
Consult a doctor immediately.
WARNING!
Risk of fire due to objects with high heat development!
Working with open flames or objects with high heat development in the GuardOne® Workstation can cause serious injuries
and property damage.
- Do not smoke in the working area of the GuardOne® Workstation. Avoid handling open light, fire and ignition sources of all kinds.
- Take the following measures in case of fire outbreak:
- Switch off the main power of the GuardOne® Workstation. Unplug the cable connector.
- If there is no danger to your own health, save persons from the danger zone. If necessary, initiate first aid measures.
- Alert fire and/or rescue services.
- If there is no danger to your own health, contain or extinguish the fire using adequate equipment. Continue the fire-fighting
until the arrival of the fire services.
- Inform the person in charge at the location.
- Keep access routes free for rescue vehicles. Instruct rescue vehicles.
CAUTION!
Risk of injury due to tripping over objects, cables and wires cluttering the space!
Objects in the workspace of the GuardOne® Workstation are tripping hazards.
- Keep the working area clean.
- Store tools, spare parts, wear parts and detergents away from the GuardOne® Workstation.
- Remove items from the workspace when they are no longer needed.
- Bundle cables and wires.
- Identify unavoidable tripping hazards (for example, cable lines) and mark them.
