INFORMATION
Data may differ due to continuous product development.
12.1
Use at low temperatures
Special drives that are approved for use at low temperatures from
-30
°C have a cor-
responding temperature range specification on the nameplate. In the temperature
range between
0
°C and
40
°C, the same technical data applies to the special drives
as to the standard design of the drives. In addition, the following applies when the mo-
tor/gearmotor is cold during startup in the temperature range between
-30
°C and
0 °C.
• Higher starting current and rated current
• Reduced no-load speed
• Reduced efficiency

Drive selection data
Certain data is required to be able to precisely define the components for your drive.
These include:

12.2.1
Determining the motor data
To select the proper drive, you first need the data (weight, speed, setting range, etc.)
of the machine to be driven.
This determines the torque and the rotational speed. For assistance, please refer to
the documentation "Drive Engineering – Practical Implementation – Project Planning
for Drives".
