Figure 112: Search Window
When the AZ Search button is selected, the antenna only searches in Azimuth. In Figure 111, the Azimuth moves 20
degrees to each side of the starting pointing position, at a rate of 10 degrees/sec. Elevation parameter settings are
identical. When both the AZ and EL Search buttons are selected, the antenna performs a Box Spiral or Raster
search, depending on the Search parameter selected in the Search window. The antenna continues to follow the
search routine, until Manual mode is selected again in both axes.
4.2.3.4.2.4 Slave
When an axis is place in Slave mode, the Slave button illuminates green, indicating that the axis is ready for manual
input commands (chain-link button selects both axes at the same time). That axis takes command angles from a
slave source from an outside source (typically Ethernet). The axis Status meter displays the numerical slave inputs
as the antenna slews to the slave source commands.
The Gear button to the right of the Slave axis buttons provides access to the Slave parameters control window,
shown in Figure 114. Use the drop down arrow in the Slave Source field to select from available sources. Currently
the only slave source is the Ethernet source.
