Caution: It's very important to protect the printer controller board and
other circuit boards, such as SIMMs and interface cards from
electrostatic damage while performing this task.
Review the anti-static guidelines in the “Removing the Controller
Board” section of chapter 2, “Memory and System Software.”
1 Verify that your printer has enough memory to support
1200x1200 dpi printing.
See chapter 3, “Advanced Printing Features,” in the Operation
manual for details about how much memory is needed for
1200x1200 dpi resolution printing.
2 Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord and
all interface cables from the printer.
3 Access the printer controller board.
Use the instructions in the “Removing the Controller Board” sec-
tion of chapter 2, “Memory.”
