Use the Installation menu to password-protect the Operator Con-
trol and Administration menus. The Installation menu appears
only when an optional security key is installed in your printer.
6 Enable the password.
Use the Installation menu to enable the passwords.
7 Return to the Configuration menu.
From the control panel press the Menu key.

Up to 16 characters (any letter, number, or symbol)
Default Blank (no password)
Notes
Enable the passwords in the Installation/Use
Operator Pwd and Installation/Use Admin Pwd
menus. The passwords for these two menus can be
the same or different. Each password is case
sensitive and is entered as an alphanumeric string.
If you choose a password that is not 16 characters
long, press the Select key until you get to the
rightmost character of the password field. (See
chapter 4, “Printer Configuration,” in the
Reference
for complete information on how to enter
alphanumeric characters.)
