b Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the screw holding
the shipping bracket in the “Shipping Position.”
c Remove the shipping bracket.
d Insert the shipping bracket in the Use position, with the
shorter end inserted into the scanner, and fasten it with the
same screw you removed in the step b.
e Place the scanner on its bottom again.

Caution: To avoid scanner damage, place the shipping
bracket in the “Shipping Position” whenever you ship the
scanner.
4 Attach the output paper stacker.
a Slide the three notches into the three openings below the
paper exit.
b Release the stacker gently, making sure that it is firmly
attached.
c Pull the paper stacker extension out as far as possible.
5 Attach the automatic document feeder (ADF).
a Raise the unattached end of the input paper chute to about
45 °.
b Pull the metal bracket down from the under side of the paper
chute.
