Operating the Maxprep™ Liquid Handler
UV Sanitization (Optional)
If you have a Maxprep™ Liquid Handler with the optional UV light you can run the UV
Sanitization method to perform a UV treatment for an amount of time designated in the
administrator preferences (see Section 4.3, Administrator Settings). The visibility of the UV
Sanitization Maintenance method is specified on the ‘Common Settings’ tab of the ‘Preferences’
screen (see Section 4.3, Administrator Settings).
5.2 Methods
The methods supplied with the Maxprep™ Liquid Handler can be used to perform
preprocessing of samples for a variety of Maxwell
®
RSC purification kits and to perform a variety
of post-processing processes (e.g., quantitation, PCR setup, qPCR setup, normalization, etc.).
Please refer to your specific Maxwell
®
RSC reagent kit and method type Technical Manuals
for information on method setup and variant method options. Two mechanisms for selecting a
method to run are enabled in the Maxprep™ software. Selection of a method from the list of
installed methods and administrator-defined variant methods can be used for method selection
as well as confirmation. Alternatively, for preprocessing methods, enter or scan the bar code
information on a Maxwell
®
RSC purification kit box. This will filter the list of methods to display
the appropriate installed preprocessing method(s) for that kit with subsequent selection and
confirmation being performed by the user.
