Symptoms
Causes and Comments
PC touch screen does not appear
to be working
Verify that the power cords are securely connected to the PC and
monitor.
Verify that the USB cable is securely connected between the PC and
monitor.
Restart the Maxprep™ Liquid Handler PC, and launch the Maxprep™
software. If the issue is not resolved, contact Promega Technical
Services for further assistance.
Cannot load new methods or
change method run parameters
Only operators with administrator-level access to the Maxprep™
software have the ability to change certain functions. If you do not have
administrator-level access, contact your site administrator.
Power failure during a run
In the event of a power failure, turn off the instrument and the PC. When
power has returned, turn the instrument and PC back on.
•
An aborted run (due to power failure) will result in the loss of all the
samples.
•
Do not attempt to repurify samples from an aborted run.
Communication failure with Portal
software
In the event of a communication failure with the Portal software, the soft-
ware will not allow another method to be run until one of the following
two conditions are met:
• Communication is re-established to the Portal software.
• The administrator disables Portal sample tracking temporarily.
Contact your IT department to determine whether a network outage or
some other network communication failure has occurred and how to
resolve the issue.
