Cleaning the Maxprep™ Liquid Handler
6.1 Weekly Cleaning (continued)
7. Perform the following instructions for each of the carriers that have a handle on the front.
a. Remove the carrier from the deck of the Maxprep™ Liquid Handler. To remove carriers,
grasp the handle on the carrier and pull it straight out toward you, supporting the
bottom of the carrier as you remove it from the system.
b. Clean the carrier and the deck area underneath the carrier with a disinfectant spray
such as Steris LpH
®
following the manufacturer’s instructions.
c. Replace the carrier at the same deck location from which it was removed. Support the
bottom of the carrier, and place the back edge of the carrier on the track positions at
the front of the instrument; then slide the carrier straight back until it touches the
backstop of the instrument.

used tips.
8. Clean the four Pipetting Channels with a towel wetted with 70% ethanol.
9. Clean interior and exterior panels and door with a towel wetted with 70% ethanol.
10. Close the instrument door, and Press OK on the ‘Weekly Maintenance’ screen to proceed
with checking pipetting channel performance and instrument calibration.
11. Once the Weekly Maintenance method is complete, replace the tip eject bar on the waste
position. The pin on the waste position should fit in the small hole at the front of the tip eject
bar, the large cut out should be at the back of the instrument and the angled side of the tip
eject bar should be on the right side and facing downward toward the waste bin.
