PL-5910 Series User Manual
A wide variety of optional units and expansion boards made by Digital can be installed in the
PL, as well as a number of commercially available PCI-bus or ISA-bus compatible boards.
This chapter describes how to install these products in the PL.
The following pages describe the installation procedures for the PL unit’s DIM
module(PL-EM128/PL-EM256), FDD unit (PL-FD500/PL-FD510), HDD unit (PL-
HD220), expansion boards and CD-ROM drive unit (PL-DK200).
For information about the installation of other option units, please
refer to those unit’s individual Installation Guide.

Installing Optional Units

1. Installation
To prevent an electric shock or PL damage, confirm that
the PL unit’s power has been turned OFF before installing
any optional units or expansion boards.
• Use a screwdriver to loosen or tighten the screws. Be careful not to
tighten screws too tightly, since it may damage the equipment.
• Be careful when removing or inserting any screws that they do not
fall inside the PL.
