Using Parental Control

Relocking Parental Control Automatically

If you have selected either On or Off/Relock from the Parental Control, Locking option and you
unlock a channel or all channels (refer to see “Unlocking Parental Control From a Locked Program”
on page 116.), parental control is automatically relocked when,

• you turn the settop off

or

• there is no activity on the settop for five hours.

Unlocking Parental Control

Unlocking parental control means that you deactivate parental control. When parental control is
turned off, viewers can watch all programs at all times. Unlocking parental control does not remove
your locking settings; Passport DCT keeps your settings so that you can activate them at any time
without having to set them back up.

This section describes the following methods for disabling parental control:

•

Unlocking parental control from the Settings menu

This allows you to unlock parental control permanently or temporarily. For information, refer
to Unlocking Parental Control With the Settings Menu on page 115.

•

Unlocking parental control from a locked program

This method unlocks parental control temporarily. You can elect to unlock a single channel or
all channels. For information, refer to Unlocking Parental Control From a Locked Program on
page 116.
