Using Parental Control
To unlock parental control with the remote LOCK button
Note: This procedure only works if Locking is turned On when you start.
1 From any channel, press the remote LOCK button.
2 Proceed with one of the following:
• If you start this procedure from a locked channel, you see a display asking you whether you
wish to unlock that channel only or all channels. Use the up or down arrow button to
highlight your desired option, and press the A button to accept.
• If you start this procedure from an channel that is not locked, proceed to step 3.
3 Enter your 4-digit PIN to turn locking off.
4 You see a confirmation display.
5 Press the C button to exit.
Requiring the PIN for Purchasing
You can specify whether you want purchasing restricted by the PIN. If you choose to require the
PIN, household members must enter the PIN before they can purchase a program. If you do not
require a PIN, anyone can purchase programs without having to know the PIN.
To require the PIN for purchasing
1 Press the SETTINGS button. The Settings menu displays.
2 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the Parental Control preference.
3 Press the right arrow to move to the Option column. The following message displays:
4 Press the numbered buttons to enter the four numbers of your PIN. You now see the Option
column.
