Passport DCT Customer Service Guide

Getting Started With Basic Procedures

• To decrease the volume, press the VOL- button. A volume banner displays, with bars indicating

the volume level. The volume banner disappears automatically.

To mute the settop volume using the MUTE button

• To turn the volume off completely, press the MUTE button. You can still watch the program,

but not hear it. The figure below shows the mute banner.

• To restore the volume and continue listening to the program, press the MUTE button again.

The volume returns to its previous level, and the mute banner is replaced briefly by the volume
banner.

Using the Channel Banner

Passport DCT includes the channel banner to provide quick access to information about the
program. The channel banner shows the following information:

• The channel number and call letters

• The program title, start time, end time and rating

• The current time

• Passport DCT symbols where appropriate (for example, the star symbol for a favorite channel)
