Selecting Passport DCT Settings
Setting Settop AC Outlet Use
The settop has an AC outlet on its rear panel. You can plug the TV power cord into this outlet, so
that the outlet powers the TV. This allows you to set up Passport DCT so that when you turn off the
settop, the TV shuts off automatically as well. You can also opt to set up Passport DCT so that the
outlet is always off or always on. To do this, you use the Settop AC Outlet preference.
Note: Some TV models may take a long time to warm up if they are plugged into the settop’s AC outlet and are
turned off and on with the settop automatically. In such cases, it is better to set the Passport DCT Settop
AC Outlet preference so that the outlet is always on and turn the TV off manually with the remote.
Another option is to simply plug the TV into a wall outlet. To use the remote to control the TV, the remote
must be programmed for the TV model. For information, refer to the remote control documentation.
You can select one of the following three options for the settop’s AC outlet:

On The AC outlet power stays on when the settop is off
Off The AC outlet power stays off regardless of whether
the settop is on or off; this option is recommended for
safety purposes when you do not use the AC outlet
On with settop The AC outlet power turns on and off when you turn
the settop on and off
