Enable Unified Write Filter
The Unified Write Filter (UWF) can be enabled to store changes into a memory overlay in RAM memo-
ry.
Additional Information
With the write filter enabled windows updates will not be applied to your IPC Application Con-
troller. Windows updates should be installed regularly to prevent security risks. Refer to
6-4 In-
stall and Update Software on page 6-9 for details.
To enable the Unified Write Filter:

Right-click the icon uwf-enable located on the desktop and then select Run as
administrator .
A command prompt window displays the message File based write filter will be enabled on
the next reboot. Press any key to continue ... .

Press any key to close the command prompt window.

Reboot the IPC Application Controller.
During reboot the write filter is activated. After the reboot the desktop wallpaper will display
OMRON without a subtitle.
The Unified Write Filter is enabled.
