System Board Removal and Installation
The following sections describe how to remove and install the system board in
small desktop, desktop, and minitower systems.
Removing the System Board — Small Desktop
Use this procedure to remove the system board from a small desktop system.
1.
Remove the system unit cover (see “Removing the Small Desktop or
Desktop Cover”).
2.
Pull the system board latch away from the system unit (see the following
figure). This releases the system board and slides it partway out of the
system.
3.
Carefully slide the board the rest of the way out, taking care not to lift the
board before it is free of the chassis.
4.
Set the board on an antistatic surface.

Installing the System Board — Small Desktop
Take care when replacing the system board. Installing the board requires the use
of the chassis latch. Incorrect use of the chassis latch can damage the latch.
