Make sure that the cable is not pinched and does not cover any connectors or obstruct
any components on the system board.

Complete the parts replacement. See “Completing the parts replacement” on page 172.
Removing a system fan
To remove a system fan, do the following:
Step 1.
Check the IMM2 event log to find out which fan needs to be replaced. Refer to Appendix A
“Integrated Management Module II (IMM2) error messages” on page 175 for the error messages.
Step 2.
Turn off the server. Then, disconnect all external cables and remove all peripheral devices.
Step 3.
Remove the server cover. See “Removing the server cover” on page 88.
