Note:
Before installing a midplane, make sure that all of the compute or storage trays, the I/O tray, and all of
the power supplies are removed from the server or slid partially out.
Step 1. Align each midplane with its opening in the top of the chassis and insert, making sure that the posts
on the midplane fit into the slots in the midplane opening.
Step 2. Push the midplane into chassis until it stops.
Note:
There is a notch in the server top cover to indicate correct alignment. The top cover must be
installed in the correct orientation so that the cover pins that help support the backplanes engage.
Step 3. Position the top cover on the server and secure it with eight screws.
Install the server in the rack and replace all components. See the

Power supply replacement
Use the following procedures to remove and install power supplies and power supply fillers. Power supplies
are at the rear of the server.
Remove a power supply
Press the release latch and pull the drive to remove it from the drive bay. Power supplies are hot-swap
devices that can be removed while the server is powered on.
