7. Connect the power and signal cables to the drive.

Removing internal drives
Before you begin:
Read “Safety information” on page vii and “Handling static-sensitive
devices” on page 57.
Turn off the computer and all other connected devices.
Disconnect all power cords and external cables attached to the
computer, and then remove the computer cover (see “Removing the
cover” on page 59).
Removing a drive from bay 1 or 2
To remove a drive from bay 1 or 2:
1. Open the swinging door in front of bays 1 and 2.
2. If you are removing a hard disk drive from bay 2, go to step 3 on
page 77 If you are removing any other type of drive from either bay 1
or 2, go to step 4 on page 77.
