Internal drives
Internal drives are devices that your computer uses to read and store data.
You can add drives to your computer to increase storage capacity and to
enable your computer to use other types of media. Some of the different
drives available for your computer are:
Hard disk drives
Tape drives
CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, and CD-RW drives
Your computer has four drive
bays to accommodate various types of drives.
In this book, bays are referred to as bay 1, bay 2, bay 3, and bay 4. On
most models, three of the bays hold factory-installed drives and bay 2 is
empty. Some models have drives installed in all four bays.
