5. Move switch 2 on the small rocker-switch block from the OFF position to
the ON position. It might be helpful to use a ballpoint pen to change the
position of the switch.
6. Replace the cover.
7. Plug in the power cord.
8. Restart the computer.
9. When the computer starts issuing a repeating series of two beeps, press
and hold the computer power button until the computer turns off
(approximately 5 seconds).
10. Unplug the power cord and remove the cover. See “Removing the
cover” on page 59.
11. Move switch 2 back to the OFF position.
12. Replace the computer cover.
13. Plug in the power cord.
14. Turn on the computer.
15. When the computer enters the Configuration/Setup Utility program and
posts a 162 error, press Enter. The Error screen appears.
16. In the Error screen, select Automatically reconfigure system and
continue, and then press Enter.
17. Disable the power-on or administrator password settings or set new
passwords. Then, reset the date and time.
18. Save the settings, exit from the Configuration/Setup Utility program, and
then turn off the computer.
19. Restart the computer.
After you finish this procedure, you might need to reconfigure some settings
in the Configuration/Setup Utility program. Start the Configuration/Setup
Utility program and reset any settings that have changed.
