Modem problems
Action
You added a second
modem and it does not
work.
Make sure that:
1. The telephone line is connected to the modem you
want to use.
2. The communications software you are using is
properly configured to use the second modem.
3. The second modem is properly configured. A
second modem must use a COM port and system
IRQ different from the first modem.
For help on how to configure, refer to the
documentation that came with your communications
program.
If these actions do not correct the problem, run the
diagnostic programs (see “IBM Diagnostic Programs” on
page 123).
