Chapter 4. Customizing the Printer
This chapter gives you step-by-step instructions for customizing your printer to
match your particular printing environment and requirements.
You can use the operator panel to change the printer settings and therefore
customize the way the printer operates. Changing the settings is called configuring.
This chapter provides instructions for:
Configuring the trays
Configuring the stackers
Configuring the printer
Running internal test prints
Configuring attachments
Adjusting the print
Using the default font
Defining form names
Configuring the Trays
Both key operators and users can configure certain items relating to the trays. The
user can do the following:
Change the form size and form name loaded in each tray
Select an autoswitch tray
The key operator also can do the following:
Enable and disable trays
Note: Always adjust the size guides in the tray for the correct paper size before
configuring that tray. Refer to “Loading Paper” on page 5-9.
Tray Names
The following artwork shows a model with all possible trays. Your printer may not
have the optional side tray installed.
Note: Paper input receptacles are referred to as
trays. Paper output receptacles
are referred to as
stackers.
