4.3.4 Printing Style (Vertical, Horizontal)

The IBM 5400-006 printer can print vertical or horizontal output. The printing styles
are controlled by the host system.

Output Type

Horizontal

Vertical

Notes:

1. Alphanumeric vertical (single byte vertical) characters can be enabled at initial-

ization or by a host command. Special double byte characters, for example ”,“,
are provided for and are automatically selected.

2. Double width characters and vertical characters are enabled by the multi-

function double byte character printing ulitily (APW).
