The fields on the
Edit Bonded Interface
screen are:
•
Bond Name
: The host name (in the preceding example,
Bond0
) can include
alphanumeric characters and the hyphen (
–
) special character. It is a best practice
to use a host name with only lowercase characters; uppercase characters can cause
issues with HP StoreAll Storage system software. Do not use an underscore (
_
) in the
host name.
•
IP Address
: Enter the IP address of the server on
Bond0
.
•
Netmask
: The netmask (a 32-bit mask) divides an IP address into subnets and specifies
the available network hosts. This field is auto-filled with
255.255.0.0
, but the
netmask entry may need to be modified, based on your specific network subnets.
•
Bond Options
: The bond is configured with (and can operate with) default values or
you can use this field to set bond options (bond mode, mimon, and updelay mode).
For example, mode=1; mimon=100, and updelay=100. Use also any of the following
parameters:
◦
arp_interval
◦
arp_ip_target
◦
lacp_rate
◦
max_bonds
◦
primary
◦
use_carrier
◦
xmit_hash_policy
•
Network Role: Use the field to determine whether the bond is part of a cluster or is
a user or management-related bond device.
•
Slave Device
: Use this field to select which Ethernet port is trunked to the bond device
being created.
NOTE:
The number of bonds and the slaves for those bonds are predefined, based on
the number of networks chosen. As such, different slave devices cannot be selected.
