System Cleaning
Warning: Haemonetics recommends handling all biologically
contaminated materials pursuant to those policies and procedures
dictated by the medical facility’s infection control plan, as legally
required by the OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen Standard.
Caution:
Never use organic solvents (e.g., acetone) acids, bases, chlorine
solutions, phenolics or soap to clean any portion of the device.
Cleaning
Agents
Haemonetics recommends using a 1:10 mixture of household bleach and
water as a cleaning solution for blood borne pathogens.
Cleaning Agents NOT Compatible With the Device
The commercial cleaners listed in
should not be used as a
daily
cleaner on the device.
Other Cleaning Agents
lists the most commonly used cleaners that are not
recommended. This list is not intended to be all inclusive. For cleaning agents
that are not on the above list and you are not sure about, please call
Haemonetics Corporation to determine if the cleaning agent is appropriate for
use in daily maintenance.
