4. Ensure roller and guides turn freely and do not bind. If any of the rollers
or guides do not spin freely they must be removed to be cleaned or
replaced. The following shows the steps the remove the rollers and
guides.
To Remove the Rollers and Guides:
1. Position the rotor on top of a roll of electrical tape right-side up, so that
the small holes on the top of the rotor are showing, the dowel pin has
clearance through the middle of the roll of tape, and the rotor is
supported.
2. Using the 3/32 pin punch and hammer, tap the dowel pin (position 1 on
Figure 35) out of the rotor through the bottom.
Note: If the dowel pin cannot be pushed through with this method in the field
then replacement of the rotor is necessary.
3. Inspect the rollers, the H guides and the dowel pins for signs of wear.
Replace if required.
4. If there are no signs of wear or deterioration, clean the rollers, H guides
and dowel pins using clean, cold, fresh water and a dry towel.
5. Inspect the rotor housing and clean as necessary. If the rotor housing is
damaged or nicked, replaced the rotor.
6. Assemble the rotor, taking care of the following:
a. Correct dowel pin is used for the rollers and guides
i. Rollers use PN 38683-04 dowel pin (shorter)
ii. Guides use PN 09264-15 dowel pin (longer)
b. The H guides are positioned correctly along with the rollers
i. H guide, PN 36195-00 is in position 2 on Figure 35
Note: Two H Guides on the 37606-00 rotor.
ii. The rollers would be in the other two positions in the rotor
c.
Dowel pin is perpendicular to the dowel pin hole and does not bind as
you push into the rotor. If you have any binding, remove the dowel pin
and inspect for damage. Ensure the correct part number dowel pin is
being used.
