Note
When making calls in viewer position, the other party’s voice is heard through the speakers. Don’t cover
the speakers with your hand.
Using Hands-free
M
appears during hands-free operation.
When Manner mode is set, In Manner mode . Switch to hands-free? appears. Select Yes to switch to
hands-free.
Speak from between 20 and 40 cm away from the mouthpiece. When the surroundings are noisy, the
voice may cut in and out and the call may not be satisfactory.
When using hands-free outdoors or in a location where surroundings are noisy, use the flat-plug
earphone/microphone with switch (sold separately) (

P. 435).
Cannot be operated when receiving a call.
Increasing earpiece volume may make conversation difficult. In such cases, press
p
and lower the
volume.
Hands-free is disabled when call ends.
Hold
The hold tone (

P. 68) plays through the speakers.
Hold tone does not play on the caller’s side when Manner mode is set.
The other party hears the hold tone (

P. 68), and the call is placed on hold.
Calls stay on hold even when the FOMA terminal is closed. Set when folded (

P. 64) does not apply.
Selecting Multi number
Those subscribing to Multi number service can select a saved Multi number and make a call.
