transmission gearshift
In order to guarantee normal engine startup, the
ignition switch shall be kept in the “START”
position for another 3 seconds eve if the driver
thought that the engine was already started up.
Precautions for automobiles equipped with
automatic transmission
For
automobiles
equipped
with
automatic
transmission, special attention shall be paid to the
following items.
Pull up the parking brake handle, and switch the
gear change hand lever to "
" gear before you
start up the engine.
Engine may also be started up at "
" gear;
however, it is advisable to start it up at "
"
gear.
Based on safety considerations, the gear shift
mechanism is designed such that the engine
cannot be started up when the gear change hand
lever is set to the gears

If engine stall takes place during driving, just
switch the transmission to
gear and restart
up the engine.
Never start up the engine by pushing or towing
your automobile.
Gearshift may be performed only when the
engine runs at the idle speed. When the engine
operate at high speed, your automobile might
suddenly move if the transmission is switched
to gears

or

Depress the brake pedal securely, switch the
transmission from "
" or "
" gear to other
gears; otherwise, your automobile might move
suddenly.
Gearshift mode is shown in the figure above.
Depress the clutch pedal completely prior to
gearshift. If it is hard to engage a gear, release and
depress the clutch pedal, and try again. The
transmission is design such that it does not allow
you to switch the gear change hand lever directly
from the 5th gear to the reverse gear.
To switch from the 5th gear to the reverse gear, the
gear change hand lever shall be switched over to the
neutral gear, and the switch it over to reverse gear
when your automobile is completely stopped.
