Brake System
Braking system of tandem-type
brake master cylinder
Xenia automobiles are equipped with a braking
systems integrated with tandem-type brake master
cylinder. Each braking system may independently
work.
In case one of the braking system develops a fault,
the other may still work. In such a case, the braking
system needs much more of braking force for
braking, and the braking length may be increased.
Moreover, the brake warning lights may also go on.
Danger
Do not continue driving your automobile while the
braking systems are faulty; Check the systems
immediately.
Vacuum booster
Vacuum booster may assist braking force by
utilizing the manifold vacuum of engine.
Danger
If engine stops during driving, a braking force much
greater than normal condition is needed, and the
braking length may also be increased.
General precautions for braking
Danger
In case a tire is punctured, do not depress the
brake pedal suddenly. Doing so may cause
out-of-control of the automobile
Ensure that the car mat may not interfere with
the free travel of pedals.
Moisture or brine salting may deteriorate the
braking effect. Depress the brake pedal gently
several times to remove the moisture or brine
salting.
Do not place your feet on the brake pedal during
driving;
otherwise,
the
brake
may
be
overheated. During downhill driving, do not
depress the brake pedal consecutively. Just shift
down to realize engine braking.
