7.10 Configuration Scripting Commands
Configuration Scripting allows the user to generate text-formatted script files representing the
current configuration. These configuration script files can be uploaded to a PC and edited,
downloaded to the system and applied to the system. Configuration scripts can be applied to one
or more switches with no/ minor modifications.
Use the show running-config command (“show running-config” on page 29) to capture the running
configuration into a script. Use the copy command (See “copy” on page 65. ) to transfer the
configuration script to/from the switch.
Scripts are intended to be used on systems with default configuration but users are not prevented
from applying scripts on systems with non-default configurations.
Note:

The file extension must be “.scr”.

A maximum of ten scripts are allowed on the switch.
z
The combined size of all script files on the switch shall not exceed 2048 KB.
7.10.1 script apply
This command applies the commands in the configuration script to the switch. We recommend that
the system have default configuration but users are not prevented from applying scripts on systems
with non-default configurations. The <scriptname> parameter is the name of the script to be
applied.

7.10.2 script delete
This command deletes a specified script where the <scriptname> parameter is the name of the
script to be deleted. The ‘all’ option deletes all the scripts present on the switch.

7.10.3 script list
This command lists all scripts present on the switch as well as the available space remaining.
