7.8.1. Button Assignments
When Button Assignments is selected from the Setup System menu, the Select Soft Button menu
displays, to enable configuration of the four soft keys (or buttons) on the front panel of XD20 (below the
LCD display).

Select a Soft Button (1-4) and press
Enter
. The following menu will display.
Scroll through the list of assignable functions, and press
Enter
to select one to be assigned to this button.
Unassign
Return button to blank state.
Video Menu
Open the Video Menu.
ACV Menu
Open the ACV Menu.
CSS Menu
Open the CSS Menu.
CSS Mode Toggle
Toggle between CSS modes: Off/On Once/On Always
TCR Selection
Open the TCR Selection Menu.
Open/Close DVD
Open or close the DVD drive(s) on the external DVD drive unit.
Soundtrack Lang
Open the Soundtrack Language menu.
CSS Language
Open the CSS language menu.
External Input
Open the External Input menu.
Load from USB
Open the Load from USB menu.
Audio Tests
Open the Audio Tests menu.
SMPTE TC
Open the SMPTE Timecode menu.
Exit Menus
Return to the Status display.
Soft keys will illuminate only if they are assigned. If unassigned, the button will remain dark
with no functionality.
7.8.2. USB Memory
The USB memory menu allows you to save configuration settings from the XD20 hard drive onto a
memory device inserted into the USB port.
The memory device (commonly called a “memory stick”) can hold settings for several XD20 units. The
number of units depends on the size of the memory device. The configuration file size of one XD20 unit
is approximately 12K.
