6.1.3 Minimum Ventilation Using Variable Fans
Two variable fan outputs can be activated during the minimum ventilation cycles.
These fans can either operate continuously or following the minimum ventilation
timer. The fan intensity is defined by the user and can automatically be adjusted over
time by using a curve.
6.1.4 Minimum Ventilation Using On/Off Fans
When they are used in the minimum ventilation cycles, On/Off fans operate following
the minimum ventilation timer. The number of On/Off fans that are used for this
purpose can also be modified over time.
Alternating the Minimum Ventilation Cycles’ Fan Selection
The controller gives the possibility of alternating the selection of fans that are used for
the minimum ventilation cycles. The user first specifies a bank of fan relays to be used;
the selected fans are then activated by groups. The number of fans per group, the
number of fan groups to be activated per On Time and the delay each fan group keeps
on running are defined by the user.
When this function is enabled, the minimum ventilation timer’s On Time automatically
becomes calculated as follows:
Total On Time
= Number of fan groups multiplied by the running time of a group.
The following graphic illustrates a case where a bank of six On/Off fans are used (fans
1 to 6). Each On Time is made of three fan groups, and each fan group keeps running
for a 10 second delay:
The number of group per On Time and their running time can automatically be adjusted
over time by using the curves. Additional fans can also be added to the fan bank as
the animals are getting older.
