Clean Mode & Empty Zones
4.9.1 Principle of Operation
EMPTY ZONE:
An empty zone is an unused
part of the room. It is defined
by temperature probes that are
only assigned to heating out-
puts, thus excluded from the
average room temperature. No
ventilation is provided in this
type of zone. The heating out-
puts are only used to provide
a minimum heating level in the
unused sections of the room.
The empty zone heaters operate according to their start and stop temperatures. These
temperatures are related to the
Empty Zone Set Point. This means that if the Empty
Zone Set Point changes, the heaters’ start/stop temperatures are adjusted consequently.
Refer to section 5.1.1 to set the
Empty Zone Set Point.
In addition, an alarm is set off whenever the temperature in an empty zone decreases
below a user-defined limit (
Empty Zone’s Low Alarm Limit). Refer to section 11.3 to
set this alarm limit.
CLEAN MODE:
When this mode is activated, the
whole house is considered as being
empty. All the controller’s functions
become disabled except for the heat-
ing outputs. The heating outputs
keeps operating to provide a
minimum heating level in the empty
room.
While the controller operates in
cleaning mode, the heaters operate
according to the empty zone
settings (e.g. the heaters’ start and
stop temperature are automatically
decreased and become based on the
Empty Zone Set Point instead of being based on
the
Room Set Point).
The empty zones’ low alarm limit is optional while being in clean mode. Refer to
section 11.3 to set this limit or to section 4.9.2 to deactivate this alarm condition.
