Appendix Q: 6-Slot Expansion Box product end of life disassembly instructions

Remove electronic devices

1. Unlock and open the enclosure cover (item 1 from TOP
ASSEMBLED, 6-Slot Expansion Box)

2. Locate these items:

From BASE ASSEMBLED on 6-Slot Expansion Box :

Variable output modules (SSR), item 8, GSI Electronics part
number: 135-00016.

3. Unscrew with a Phillips screwdriver #1 and remove the screws
(item 9) from variable output modules (SSR).

4. Remove the variable output modules (SSR) from the 6-Slot
Expansion Box

5. Locate the PLASTIC FAN SUPPORT, item 5

6. Unscrew with a Phillips screwdriver #1 and remove the screws
(item 4) from the PLASTIC FAN SUPPORT.

7. Remove the PLASTIC FAN SUPPORT from the 6-Slot Expan-
sion Box.

8. Unscrew with a Phillips screwdriver #1 and remove the screws
(item 6) from the PLASTIC FAN SUPPORT and the FAN, item 7.

9. Remove the FAN from the PLASTIC FAN SUPPORT.

Remove Electrolytic Capacitors / Condens-
ers Measuring greater than 2.5cm in diame-
ter or height

1. Unlock and open the enclosure cover (item 1 from TOP
ASSEMBLED, 6-Slot Expansion Box

2. Locate the PANEL MOUNT POWER SUPPLY (item 2 from
BASE ASSEMBLED, 6-Slot Expansion Box, GSI Electronics part
number: 135-00010)

3. Use a large flat-head screwdriver to unfasten the PANEL
MOUNT POWER SUPPLY from the DIN RAIL (item 5, GSI Elec-
tronics part number : 550-00238) by pulling the lock of the PANEL
MOUNT POWER SUPPLY.

4. Remove the PANEL MOUNT POWER SUPPLY from the
enclosure.

5. Consult instructions from PANEL MOUNT POWER SUPPLY
manufacturer to disassemble it and to remove the capacitors from
the PANEL MOUNT POWER SUPPLY.

Recycle plastic

1. Unlock and open the enclosure cover (item 1 from TOP
ASSEMBLED, 6-Slot Expansion Box

2. From TOP ASSEMBLED (6-Slot Expansion Box), remove the
EPDM GASKET, item 2

3. From BASE ASSEMBLED (6-Slot Expansion Box), unscrew
with a Phillips screwdriver #1 and remove the screws (item 4)
from the WALL6 (item 1 and item 3) and the PLASTIC SINGLE
SUPPORT (item 5)
