A popup window is displayed when you press on a fan cell on the Natural ventilation stage line allowing
you to assign it to On or Off on a Natural stage.
A popup window is displayed when a ceiling, sidewall or Tunnel inlet cell is pressed on the Natural ventila-
tion stage line. The inlet can be assigned to open, close or to follow Natural. When follow Natural is
selected, you have to enter what Natural inlet this inlet has to follow. Then, in Natural, this inlet will follow
the designated Natural inlet’s opening percentage.
Interactions between Natural ventilation mode and other mode settings
If you make any changes to one of the stage settings on the ventilation grid, the controller modifies the fol-
lowing stage settings accordingly. If house/barn set point or Power stage settings are modified, this will
impact Natural settings. Also, if Natural settings are modified, this impacts Tunnel settings. At all times, it
is important to go through the settings if you modify default values to make sure other settings are correct.
Tunnel ventilation grid
Once the Tunnel ventilation setup has been done, the Tunnel ventilation stages have to be configured.
This is done with the ventilation grid accessed when pressing the
Ventilation Settings
of the ventilation
setup. These settings can be modified at any time, but there is a proposal for startup. System capacity or
performance in achieving a particular ventilation response is a function of the installed equipment and
differ according to fan assignation and settings in this ventilation grid.
Tunnel parameters for the ventilation grid
Values in the ventilation setup pages (Power, Natural, Tunnel) are used as input value to first populate the
start and stop temperatures of each stages of the ventilation grid when the auto calculate button is
pressed. Once in operation, changes made to any ventilation offset, bandwidth or minimum ventilation
are not updated in the setup pages but they are in the grid. Therefore, in the grid, start/stop/max tempera-
tures can be edited manually and the changes will be reflected in the operation page. If you inadvertently
press on the auto calculate button, the values will be taken form the setup page to recalculate the grid
and any previous manual change on start, stop or max temperatures will be deleted.
Whenever a set point is modified in any ventilation mode, the values adjust accordingly in all ventilation
modes.
Stir fans in the ventilation grid
Once the stir fans are configured, you can add them to the ventilation grid. You can then assign the stir
fans to Power, Natural, or Tunnel ventilation. The stir fans are fixed capacity (full on or off only) for Tunnel
ventilation.
By clicking on the
Min
or
Max
fields, you can set the following parameters:
Stir mode
Select
Use chill mode
if you want the start and stop
temperatures to follow the start and stop temperatures
of the stage
Select
Use delta mode
, and enter the minimum and
maximum delta temperatures if the start and stop time
temperatures are determined according to the differ-
ence between the highest and lowest readings of the
temperature probes assigned to the stir fan
Fan capacity
Select
Full on
if you want the stir fan to run at it’s maxi-
mum capacity
