Safety characteristics
The EDGE system is Safety Class I according to IEC classification and has been designed to meet the
requirements of UL 61010-1 third edition, CAN/CSA-C22.2 nº 61010-1 third edition, EN 61010-1: 2010
(Safety Requirements for Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use). It is an
Installation Category II intended for operation from a normal single phase supply.
The EDGE system has been tested in accordance with IEC61010-1 and has been supplied in a safe con-
dition. This instruction manual contains some information and warnings which have to be followed by the
user to ensure safe operation and to retain the instrument in a safe condition.
The following safety EU directives were followed:
2014/35/EU
The low voltage directive (LVD)
2014/30/EU
The Electromagnetic compatibility directive (EMC)
NOTE:
The EDGE Main Controller plastic enclosure is certified to use rigid tubing up to 1 inch
NOTE:
The EDGE 3-Slot Expansion Box plastic enclosure and EDGE 6-Slot Expansion Box plastic
enclosure are certified to use rigid tubing up to 2 inches.
EMC characteristics — emission standards
The EDGE System has been designed to meet the requirements of the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, FCC
directives, Industrie Canada directives. The compliance was demonstrated by meeting the test limits of
the following standards:
