Chapter 24: Alarms and troubles
curve option is enabled. The water spill alarm is available in all ventilation and house/barn modes. Water
spill alarms cannot recover on their own; they must be acknowledged. Acknowledging the alarm resets
the water spill counter, and resets the associated specific alarm relay.
You can set the water spill alarms based on a water spill curve to differentiate a water spill from the real
volume of water consumed by animals which increases with age.
Auger run time alarm
You can monitor the auger run time during each feed to see how long it runs without interruption. By doing
so you can detect feed spills, out of feed events, and prevent premature wear of equipment running on
empty.
You can also setup an auger maximum run time curve to differentiate between a problem and the
increase in feed consumption as the animals get bigger. The auger maximum run time can’t be set man-
ually when an auger maximum run time curve is activated.
Service room alarms
Service room alarms are alarms that are related to service rooms, for example, rooms that are not desig-
nated for animal occupancy, such as hallway or attic. None of the service room alarms are related to
production.
House/barn average temperature alarm in production rooms
House/barn temperature alarms include critical, high and low temperature conditions in production, pre-
heat and clean modes. Alarm offsets and thresholds can be different in each house/barn mode. There are
no modes related to production in service rooms so the user interface is slightly different in those rooms.
The preheat mode section is shown only when a production house/barn uses pre-heat mode. The clean
mode section is shown only when a production house/barn uses a clean mode. You can select the modes
in the house/barn configuration page. House/barn temperature alarms monitor house/barn average tem-
perature, house/barn average temperature assigned probe sets can vary with ventilation mode. There
must be at least one configured temperature probe and at least one probe assigned to average house/
barn temperature (in probe assignment screen) for house/barn temperature type to be shown. When
alarm conditions are met for a long period of time, the alarm can be triggered and recovered at different
temperatures.
Troubles
Troubles are monitored in all house/barn types, house/barn modes and ventilation modes. Troubles
cannot be disabled.
There are various types of troubles, but when a trouble of any type is present, the system displays it in the
same fashion:
• The trouble icon becomes orange on the main page and the number is increased by 1
• The tile in which the trouble is present turns orange
• An orange LED is displayed on the left in the configuration, probe assignment, and setup page
• The tile becomes orange in the configuration page
• A trouble icon is displayed in the equipment line
• An e-mail and SMS is sent out
• An entry is logged in the alarm and trouble log
