Chapter 12: Ventilation operation
Inlets: how it works
Three types of air inlets are available: ceiling inlets, sidewall inlets and Tunnel inlets. An inlet is composed
of at least one opening, an actuator, and a feedback device.
Inlet position reset
Inlet reset allows synchronizing cumulated opening time and actual opening. For each individual inlet, its
own "total movements" is compared to actual ventilation mode "movements between reset". Inlet position
is induced after so many movements. Movements include manual openings and closing operations. The
inlet can be reset to its closed or opened position. Inlet resets can also be related to animal age, outside
temperature, and time of the day.
In all ventilation modes, inlet resets are not done when the following conditions are present:
• Inlets are in manual mode (even if manual movements are considered in the count)
• Inlets are in an over-opening process
• The open limit switch is already engaged
• Another inlet is doing its reset
• The time of day does not allow a reset
• The house/barn is in clean or pre-heat mode
House/barn set point tile information
The house/barn set point tile displays the current temperature and the current set point.
You can press on the house/barn set point tile to access the house/barn set point page.
The house/barn set point page displays the current temperature readings of all temperature sensors in a
house/barn, and the house/barn set point.
Below the set point, there is a manual override parameter that allows you to modify the set point in a
house/barn without it being changed in the temperature setup. You can also choose to make the change
temporary by entering a time period after which the set point returns to its original value entered in tem-
perature setup.
The high alarm and low alarm thresholds are also displayed on screen.
Ventilation tile information
All the information concerning ventilation in a house/barn is accessed by pressing on the ventilation tile in
the house/barn. The house/barn name, current house/barn temperature, set point, and animal age are
