Chapter 12: Ventilation operation
Fixed capacity stir fans in delta mode
When using fans in Full on or single capacity stir fans, the fan starts when its measured delta is higher
than the Start delta and stops when its measured delta drops below Stop delta . Start and stop delta are
assigned for each stage in the ventilation grid. As mentioned with the variable capacity case, stage
changes occur independently from temperature deltas.
Chill mode
When in chill mode, the stir fan follows the average house/barn temperature and start, stop, and maxi-
mum temperatures of the stages. The wind the fans produce is used to chill the animals.
Variable capacity stir fans in chill mode
Variable stir fans start at its minimum capacity (set in the ventilation grid) at the stage’s start temperature.
Capacity increases with house/barn average temperature and reaches its maximum at the stage’s maxi-
mum temperature. The stir fan stops when another stage is induced, or uses the new stage parameters if
it is assigned on that new stage.
Fixed capacity stir fans in chill mode
When using fans in a fixed capacity stage or fixed capacity fans in a variable fan stage, a stir fan starts at
the stage’s start temperature, and stops when another stage is induced (or uses its assigned function on
the new stage).
