2. Installation
• Before performing any operations, check that the amount of available memory is 100%.
• If the amount of available memory is not 100%, explain this to the customer, and then
either print out or delete any data in the memory.
• After checking that the amount of available memory is 100%, turn off the copier.
Unplug the power cord.
• The illustrations used in this manual may show a unit that differs from your machine,
depending on the model.
NOTE
• Note that the network interface card (
ZC3500090
) must be installed at the same time
the
Network Scan Kit or Internet Fax & Network Scan Kit is installed.
• Note that additional memory cannot be installed at the same time the Network Scan
Kit or Internet Fax & Network Scan Kit is installed.
(1) Removing the outer covers and plates
(2) Installing the circuit board
1. With the im2520f, disconnect the Ni-MH battery cable
from CN3 on the MFB3 circuit board.
This protects the memory chips from damage.
NOTE
Disconnecting the Ni-MH battery cable from CN3 on the MFB3 circuit board cuts off the
power supply from the Ni-MH battery to the added memory. In the worst case, failure to
disconnect the battery cable can cause damage to the memory chips.

1. Remove the rear cover.
Remove the 3 screws at the back of the
copier, and then remove the rear cover.
(By slightly opening the document cover
and pressing down on the ADF angle-
detecting lever at the top of the rear cover,
the rear cover can be more easily removed.)

2. Remove the I/F CLAN circuit board cover.
• Disconnect the 2 cable connectors.
• Remove the 2 cables from the cable
clamp.
• Remove the I/F CLAN circuit board cover.
