OPTIONAL MEMORY BOARD
SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
1. CONTENTS OF KIT
2. INSTALLATION
• Keep all packing materials out of the reach of children.
• Before starting the installation work, check to see that the storage
memory has been is 100% (Memory Free 100%). If the amount of
memory used is not 100% (Memory Free 100%), get customer
approval to output or erase the contents of the memory.
• After confirming that the memory has been is 100% (Memory Free
100%), set the power switch to OFF.
• Illustration in this instruction sheet differs from the actual product’s
cover form, depending on the model.
* The optional memory board cannot be installed with the Network
Scan Kit /Internet Fax & Network Scan Kit.
(1) Detaching outer covers and metal plate
<1> Detaching COVER (Upper Rear)
Detach the three screws from rear side of product and detach
the COVER (Upper Rear) to rear side.
<2> Detaching Network Interface Card Cover.
[1]Detach the two cable connectors.
[2]Detach the two cables from the Wiring saddle.
[3]Detach the Network Interface Card Cover. (6 screws)
<3> Detaching bracket (connector)
Detach the bracket (connector) metal plate. (1 screw)
(2) In case of a Network Interface Card installed model, remove the
card. (3 screws)
(3) Disconnecting Ni-MH battery cable.
(4) Add the MEMORY BOARD
Add the MEMORY BOARD to the reserved extension number 2
SLOT (CN5) on the MFB3 board.
(5) Reconnecting Ni-MH battery cable
Reconnect the Ni-MH battery cable into the CN3 provided on the
MFB3 board as before.
(6) Attaching covers
To attach the parts, follow the detaching procedure backward.
*Note: Make sure that:
•
The cable is not pinched between the covers.
•
The clearance is constant between covers.
3. SETUP OF MACHINE AND INSPECTION PROCEDURES
(1) Setup of machine
No change is needed.
(2) Inspection procedures
Make sure that the volume of memory was increased.
<1> Select SERVICE MODE
<2> Touch [System Input] then [Machine Configuration]
<3> Check the volume of memory
<4> End of the SERVICE MODE.

Before installation, you must read this
instruction sheet and understand the
correct method of installation.
CAUTION!
In case of Ni-MH battery-attached product, disconnect the Ni-
MH battery cable from the CN3 provided on the MFB3 board
before mounting the add-on memory.
If you forget to disconnect the cable, damage to the memory
IC could result.
To make detachment of the COVER (Upper Rear) easier,
slightly open the Document cover and push in the ADF
angle detection lever on the Book Scanner part.

CAUTION!
Disconnect the Ni-MH battery cable from the CN3
provided on the MFB3 board to stop the supply of the
power from the Ni-MH battery to the add-on memory.
CAUTION!
•
Do not touch the electric connection edge of the
memory board with bare hands.
•
Confirm the mounting direction (notch) of the add-on
memory board and insert the add-on memory board all
the way until a click is heard.

CAUTION!
If you forget to reconnect the battery cable, no backup will
be made in the event of a power failure. Be sure to
reconnect the battery cable.
