Lifting vehicle up
5. After confirming that there is no
passenger in vehicle, lift vehicle to
the height at which spare tire can
be installed.
Remember that a greater ground
clearance is needed for installing a
spare tire than for taking down a flat
tire.
To lift vehicle, insert jack handle into
jack (loose engagement), then rotate
the jack handle counterclockwise.
When jack contacts vehicle and begin
to rise, check whether jack is at a
correct position again.
FRIENDLY TIPS
When vehicle is supported only by
jack, nobody is allowed to enter under
the vehicle.
Replacing tire
6. Remove wheel nuts and replace
tire.
Take the flat tire down immediately
and put it aside.
Roll spare tire to installation site and
make bolts aim at wheel holes. Then
lift wheel up until the top bolt passes
through bolt hole.
Rotate tire and push it backward until
other bolts pass through bolt holes.
Before installing wheel, brush away
all corrosion on mounting surface with
wire brush.
If metal face of mounting surface
cannot contact metal face well during
installation, it will cause loose wheel
nuts and wheel will come off during
driving.
